Krafla Magma Testbed (KMT) Symposium

Under the theme ā€œTogether, toward a greener and safer futureā€, the KMT Symposium aims to gather the scientific community from the fields of geosciences and deep-drilling engineering to exchange knowledge relevant to the Krafla system.

The Krafla Magma Testbed vision will be introduced and the KMT team will review the current knowledge of the Krafla volcanic and geothermal systems, thus providing an opportunity to get involved with this ground-breaking initiative as it rapidly gains momentum.​

Registration

RegistrationĀ for the Symposium is open, and the deadline to register is March 25th

The registration fee is 27 900 ISK (€186) for a full ticket. Tickets include full access to the Symposium, starting at noon on April 10 and concluding at noon on April 12.

Join us for a Bavarian night out!

The opening day of the KMT Symposium concludes with the Symposium Dinner at the iconic Ratskeller restaurant in Munich Town hall.

Admission is included in the ticket price (27.900 ISK) and includes a meal and free drinks for 3 hours, 19:00 – 22:00. For the meal, attendees choose between meat, fish, and vegan in the registration process.

We kindly ask that attendees declare their dietary restrictions when registering for the Symposium.

Members of the press can apply for complimentary registration to the KMT Symposium.

Media access applications from large-circulation news outlets will be considered and reviewed by the KMT Executive Office. This includes online news platforms, print publications, radio stations, etc.

Independent journalists and content producers are eligible to apply, pending reviewal by the KMT Executive Office.

Those who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply for free registration by emailing their CV and supporting material to info@kmt.is with the subject line ā€œKMT Symposium Media Accessā€.
